Stay careful while choosing a PG

Before visiting

• Confirm the address, meeting person, and purpose of the visit.
• Tell someone you trust where you are going and prefer daylight visits.
• Do not rely only on photos, reviews, a map pin, or a verification label.

At the property

Inspect the room and shared areas. Check building access, fire exits, locks, water, electricity, hygiene, connectivity, house rules, and the surrounding locality.

Before paying

Verify the owner or authorised manager, total rent and deposit, included services, refund terms, notice period, and written agreement. Avoid cash without a receipt and never pay because of pressure or an unusually urgent promise.

Protect personal information

Never share passwords, OTPs, PINs, or complete card details. Limit identity-document sharing to what is necessary and mark copies for their intended purpose where appropriate.

Report problems

Report suspicious listings to WantPG. Contact local emergency services or authorities immediately if there is danger, fraud, violence, or another urgent concern.
